Gal oya located at Amphara District. Now it starting famous tourist destination. Gal oya National Park and Senanayaka samudraya is famous icon tourist destination. Senanayaka Samudraya is the largest reservoir in Sri Lanka and is home to the country’s largest herd of elephants, which can occasionally be observed swimming across the lake at dusk. The Gal Oya region is also known for its diverse flora. In addition to elephants, one may encounter Axis deer, Muntjac, water buffalo, Sambar, leopards, toque macaques, wild boars, mugger crocodiles, and star tortoises, along with over 150 species of birds. Gal Oya National Park offers a variety of activities beyond the typical jeep safaris conducted in the morning or evening. A distinctive experience available in this park is a boat ride across the magnificent reservoir at sunset, where one can spot elephants swimming among the small islands scattered throughout the lake, as well as a multitude of migratory and endemic bird species.
